From Modi Research Group, CU — May 17 201211 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 11 to 18 Local
The map represents the total annual energy consumption at the block level ( visible at zoom level 11 to 15) and at the lot level ( visible at zoom level 16 to 18 ) for New York City, and is expressed in kilowatt hours (k Wh) per square meter of land area. The data comes from a mathematical model based on statistics, not private information from utilities, to estimate the annual energy consumption values of buildings throughout the five boroughs. We were also able to break down what type of energy is being used, for which purpose and in what quantity( to view it you need to hover over or click on a block or lot).
